Another Great Portrait From Boone!!

You may remember a while back Boone did an awesome portrait of his dad, well now it was my turn. In sharing time yesterday they were discussing the role of the mother in the home, then they wrote a little note of appreciation for her or drew a picture for her. I received a lovely letter from Maddy and a drawing from both Ben and Brady, but when I unfolded Boone's I died laughing and couldn't wait to show Chris. His reaction was the same.

Hope you enjoy!!

Now honestly, Is my smile that big? Do I really have that many teeth?
But I do love the necklace he gave me. Love you Boone!!

My Babies are Six!!

I really need to stop calling them babies, my big boys are six. For any of you that missed the traditional birthday song here are the words.

Ben & Brady McBride,
Remember when you almost died,
But you didn't, shout "Hurray",
You are turning SIX today!!

They had a great birthday. A valentine's party at school started the all day sugar high. They then helped me put the finishing touches on their cakes, a Skateboard for Ben and a Skull for Brady. Then we finished the evening off with bowling, pizza, and cake and ice cream.
The Bowling Ale we went to was so fun. They gave them each an old pin and had all the party goers sign it. The pin buddies didn't leave their sides the whole night, they were thrilled by them. What a fun memento.

We love our Pin Buddies!!

Time to Catch up, Once again!!

Why Do I even Blog? I really don't make time for it. So here are a few highlights of the past month and a half...

Let's start with Christmas. We had a great Christmas in Las Vegas with Sharyn and her family. We enjoyed an evening with Karl & Laura, had fun playing with new puppies, and we couldn't leave Jayla alone, she's so fun.
Brady always had a puppy close by.

The Nacho masks were a big hit. Sorry it's Blurry.

Boone loves his skateboard from Santa.

Next came the big day for Boone. He was Baptized on Jan 3rd. He has always had a real fear of water that we were concerned how he would do. But about two months before, the fear faded and excitement grew. But I did see a flash of it right after. He did great. We love you Boone.

Now comes Cub Scouts!!
Boone is so excited to be in Cub scouts. He has already earned his Bobcat and will be receiving it next month. It is going to be a great program for Boone, he has three jealous sibling when he comes home from a den meeting.

Happy Birthday Booner Guy!!!

Boone is 8!!

For Boone's Birthday we went to Golden Corral for dinner, thanks to the power of suggestion by Chris. Boone is one of the easiest boys to please. He asked for the simplest cake and was thrilled by it, and I was grateful because I had a busy day!
Boone had a Fauxhawk that day that went a little crazy as you can see.

When the kids turn 8, I make them a blanket. Here is Boone with his.

10 Yrs old!!

I know I'm so late in posting once again, but I have a 10 year old. I Know I can't believe it either. Here are some great pics of her and her cake, well pie! She tends to pick pie as her cake since her birthday is around Thanksgiving. Who can blame her? I remember having quite a few bunny cakes myself.

Halloween!!

Halloween lasted way to long around our house! Events included Field trips to Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches(Yes, I actually went on my first Field Trip as a parent), Family Halloween Party(we hosted), Ward Chili Cook-off/Halloween Carnival, School Parties, & Trick-or-Treating. Not to mention the pounds of candy we still have lying around. After a day or so of sugar highs, I confiscated all the buckets and have been rationing out the candy. Usually they have to earn a piece by doing their chores or an extra job. I'm such a mean mom!
My Halloween Treat! I love Peanut Brittle!
Paul's Masterpiece or tribute to Corey Dad! He definitely deserved to win. How many hours? 3?
Ben swinging away at our homemade pinata! The kids and I had a great time making it and lets admit, it saved us money.
Congrats to Aly! She won the candy jar by guessing the amount of candy inside. Which Chris made it to be a little tricky in his stacking.

Year Book Yourself

See how you might have looked in the 1950's-2000. With Chris gone on the deer hunt, we needed something to entertain us. Maddy and I laughed so hard at all of these, we had to share. Note these are the best ones,Sorry I don't have the year they go with posted. You'll have to try it out for yourself at yearbookyourself.com.
