Happy Birthday Booner Guy!!!

Boone is 8!!

For Boone's Birthday we went to Golden Corral for dinner, thanks to the power of suggestion by Chris. Boone is one of the easiest boys to please. He asked for the simplest cake and was thrilled by it, and I was grateful because I had a busy day!
Boone had a Fauxhawk that day that went a little crazy as you can see.

When the kids turn 8, I make them a blanket. Here is Boone with his.

10 Yrs old!!

I know I'm so late in posting once again, but I have a 10 year old. I Know I can't believe it either. Here are some great pics of her and her cake, well pie! She tends to pick pie as her cake since her birthday is around Thanksgiving. Who can blame her? I remember having quite a few bunny cakes myself.

Halloween!!

Halloween lasted way to long around our house! Events included Field trips to Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches(Yes, I actually went on my first Field Trip as a parent), Family Halloween Party(we hosted), Ward Chili Cook-off/Halloween Carnival, School Parties, & Trick-or-Treating. Not to mention the pounds of candy we still have lying around. After a day or so of sugar highs, I confiscated all the buckets and have been rationing out the candy. Usually they have to earn a piece by doing their chores or an extra job. I'm such a mean mom!
My Halloween Treat! I love Peanut Brittle!
Paul's Masterpiece or tribute to Corey Dad! He definitely deserved to win. How many hours? 3?
Ben swinging away at our homemade pinata! The kids and I had a great time making it and lets admit, it saved us money.
Congrats to Aly! She won the candy jar by guessing the amount of candy inside. Which Chris made it to be a little tricky in his stacking.

Year Book Yourself

See how you might have looked in the 1950's-2000. With Chris gone on the deer hunt, we needed something to entertain us. Maddy and I laughed so hard at all of these, we had to share. Note these are the best ones,Sorry I don't have the year they go with posted. You'll have to try it out for yourself at yearbookyourself.com.

Our little Lady!!

We've always told Maddy that she could get her ears peirces when she was 10. But there were many times we'd pass Claire's or another shop and we'd tell her if she wanted to she wouldn't have to wait, "let's do it now". All the time being fully aware she never would, because she's deathly afraid of needles and shots. But I think she's taken strength from her younger cousins, both Jayla(>1) and Maycie(7). So we told her she could get them done now, so that for her birthday she could start wearing different earrings. It's about 6 weeks away. She did great, no tears just eyes shut really tight. She's growing up way too fast.We love You, Maddy.

The Circus! The Circus! We Love the Circus!!

We had a great day at the circus with lots of family, Grandma & Grandpa, Aunts and Uncles, and lots of Cousins. Each of the kids loved it and have a favorite event. Ben now KNOWS he NEEDS a motorbike for Christmas and wants to be just like the guys riding in the big ball. SCARY!! Take a look!
They loved all the animals especially the elephants. It was a great day!!

Oh! and Happy Birthday to Chris! WE love you!!

Have you seen this Guy?

My Dad!!

For all of you who haven't seen Chris lately, we thought we would share the most recent portrait of him. Boone really captured the facial hair and gave dad some great teeth. Thanks Boone.

Fishy!! Fishy!!

We spent a great evening on Strawberry Resivor Monday for family night. We were glad to have Grandpa & Grandma McBride join us. Each of the kids took turns fishing in the canoe with them, which helped us a ton. We caught lots of fish and had a great time. I think Boone's Cutthrout Trout was the largest in our family, but at 19" was not large enough to keep. Ben was sure proud to have caught himself a crawfish, and even pretended to eat the one Grandpa had caught.

Labor Day Campout!!

We had a great Labor Day weekend camping with friends and family. We had a picnic at Payson Lakes on Saturday. Where we let all our kids paddle themselves aroud the lake. They just continue to surprize me, that it's time to let go a little. I remember Tavia and I going all over Smith Lake in a little raft when I was probably Maddy's age. Funny though, I don't remember wearing a life jacket. But the kids highlight of the trip had to be the awesome fort they found and finished into a small cabin. They were up there constanly working on it, and even ate lunch in it one day.
Then the last night there the fog, rain, and thunder rolled in. It was fun to stay indoors and play some games with Grandma & Grandpa. We stayed mostly dry except for one window that leaked. After a very muddy exit we came home to SNOW on our mountains.

First Day Of School!! First Day Of School!!

All smiles at the start of a new school year!! Maddy is in 4th grade
(I know I can't believe it either) and Boone is in 2nd. They both started school last monday, while Ben & Brady started Kindergarten today. A couple people have asked me "Ooh, how was your morning? Were you ok? Was it a little sad?" Shoot, the next person who ask me I'm going to tell them " It's just school, They're not dead?" It's a time of excitement, not mourning.
I'M GREAT!!
