Laundry Woes!!

I do laundry once a week. Every Monday. Its an all day affair but then it's all folded and done, each person with their own basket. That way I don't feel like I've always got laundry to do.

But here is my question... At what age did you start doing your own laundry? Or at what age can I start making my kids do their own?

What sparks this question? Yesterday's Laundry!!!

Baskets #1-Dad, #2-Mom, #3-Maddy, #4-Boone, #5-Brady & Ben

Now I'll be the first to admit, I had it pretty easy as a kid. Mom always had the clothes washed for us. We would fold our own, and on occasion wash a load or two of every one's. But we never had to do all of our own. But in my defense, My laundry pile was never that big from one week.

wow, i'd call that a full day. and i thought we had a lot of laundry with all the new baby clothes and AJ's ACU's and other Army paraphernalia! =]

i started doing all my own laundry when i was 8. before then, i always had to help fold clothes and then put mine away. my mom would sometimes throw a few things of mine in with hers and my dad's.

when my siblings started doing their own too, we each had a day that was ours to do our laundry.

good luck. =]

I can't believe Maddy's is so big!! I think she is smart enough to figure laundry out, let her do it... she would probably love it!

We each had a laundry day too! Maddy is definitely old enough to wash, fold, and put away her own laundry!! And as for me... washing my own made me think twice before tossing clean clothes in the dirty pile out of convenience! So who knows... maybe that pile would shrink!

I agree with Becca, it's a lot easier to wear something twice (or more than just an hour) when I know I have to wash it. Thanks for the visual! She's such a girl!
