My Mini Me!!

Maddy just completed her first quilt. Grandma, Aunt Sara, and myself helped a little, but it was all her. She gave this to Aunt Sara and baby Kjerstin.

Laundry Woes!!

I do laundry once a week. Every Monday. Its an all day affair but then it's all folded and done, each person with their own basket. That way I don't feel like I've always got laundry to do.

But here is my question... At what age did you start doing your own laundry? Or at what age can I start making my kids do their own?

What sparks this question? Yesterday's Laundry!!!

Baskets #1-Dad, #2-Mom, #3-Maddy, #4-Boone, #5-Brady & Ben

Now I'll be the first to admit, I had it pretty easy as a kid. Mom always had the clothes washed for us. We would fold our own, and on occasion wash a load or two of every one's. But we never had to do all of our own. But in my defense, My laundry pile was never that big from one week.

Little Red Hen House!!

Six weeks ago we decided to try chickens. We went to get three and came home with six. One for each of us. They have been lots of fun for the kids, but I think Chris is the most attached. They were getting too big for the box we had in the garage, so our little hen house flew up in less than a weeks time. It really is so cute. It's just missing one thing, a rooster weathervane. We had one on our shed in Lehi and I loved it. So I am off to find one somewhere!!

Swapping Success!!

Friday night we gathered to exchange our Apron we have been making. We had fabulous food at Carrabas, then exchanged names and opened our new Aprons. Because of poor lighting, and not adjusting my camera, some of the pictures didn't turn out. But here are a few that did.

Upholstry 101

Hurray! They are finally done. Two years ago I picked up some free chairs in hopes that I would recover them. While Chris knew it was going to be one of my projects never to see the light of day again, I just needed some time to research. So here are the before and after pictures of My Chairs! Note if you don't recognize seeing these before, you're not mistaken, they have been hiding in the shed the past 2 years.

By far the hardest part was picking the fabric. Bringing home swatches from the store only to see that ones too formal, too plain, not the color it was in the store, or nobody else liked it. After several trips we found the right one.
